Privacy Policy Statement

The FoodSHare Platform is committed to user privacy. The policy on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data by the FoodSHare Platform is based on the Law on personal data protection (The Official Gazzette of the Republic of Serbia, number 87/18). The Law itself has been modeled after and largely complies with the provisions of the GDPR. According to the Law, prior consent must be given to personal data processing for one or more specific purposes. The FoodSHare Platform aims to streamline and coordinate surplus food donations from food business operators (i.e. donors) to nonprofits and communities that provide food directly to people in need. To do this effectively, we make use of personal data registered in the profile/log-in account. We attach great importance to the careful handling of your data.

Who can see your data?

The owner of the FoodSHare Portal and controller of your data is FOODSCALE HUB ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND INNOVATION ASSOCIATION, based in Belgrade, Serbia, at Cara Dusana 18. To reach Foodscale Hub, you can send an email to info@foodscalehub.eu. When you are registered to the Platform, your data are being shared with other registered users, which can be commercial parties as well. The FoodSHare Platform may provide links to third-party sites. In order to use third-party content on our website and portal, you may need to accept their specific terms and conditions, including their cookie policies over which we have no control.

Why do we need your data?

We aim to facilitate matchmaking and information sharing between all registered FoodSHare users. To facilitate this, we need the data registered in your profile account.

What will we do, or not do, with your data?

Your personal data will only be used in the context of the FoodSHare Platform and the Ploutos project - Data-driven sustainable food chains (GA Nº 101000594). Foodscale Hub makes every effort to protect your data. Only registered parties will be able to view the data that you fill in. Unregistered parties will not have access, and your data will not be sold to third parties.

How will you use our Platform?

When you register at the FoodSHare Portal, you are at least 18 years old. Without permission, you will not send personal data obtained on the Platform to third parties. Also, you are aware that the other registered parties on the Platform can contact you.

What data do we collect?

To have a fully functional Platform, we store the following types of data about you:

Companies

  • Name & last name
  • Phone number
  • Email
  • Position
  • Organisation name
  • Type of the organisation
  • Organisation address
  • Whether your organisation is already donating food? Yes/ No
  • How much food is donated per month
  • The average value of donated food items
  • If the food to be donated is edible or compostable?
  • Type and quantity of food to be donated

Organisations

  • Organisation name
  • Organisation address
  • Primary contact title
  • Contact email address
  • Contact phone number
  • A category that best describes the organisation
  • If people eat meals on-site
  • Brief description of the organisation’s operation and how they provide food to individuals in need
  • Estimated number of unduplicated clients that an organisation has served during the most recently completed fiscal year
  • Types of food are you most in need of
  • Amount of food donations an organisation receives
  • How often does the organisation receive food

Volunteers

  • Name and last name
  • Phone number
  • Primary contact title
  • Email
  • If a volunteer is a part of an organisation or an individual
  • If yes - name of the organisation and type of the organisation
  • Address of the organisation or personal address
  • If the volunteer has a vehicle that can be used for transporting food
  • Whether the volunteer will be participating on a regular basis or on the one-time basis when available

Do we use cookies?

This Platform uses a web analytics service provided by Foodscale Hub. Cookies (small text files stored locally on your computer) are used to help analyse how people use this portal. The collected information, including your IP-address will be stored on servers. Foodscale Hub will use this information to generate reports on Platform usage. Foodscale Hub will only share the collected information with third parties when legally required to do so. Your IP-address will not be combined with other websites or other data sources available to Foodscale Hub.

What are your rights?

You have the right to access your data and/or to improve it, add to it, delete it, or block certain parts of it at any time. You can also withdraw your consent at any time when processing is based on consent, as described above. The terms and conditions of this privacy and cookie statement can be adjusted without prior notice. Changes are effective as soon as they are published on the website. Foodscale Hub has not, save where otherwise stated, adopted or in any way approved any view appearing in these sections by its users, and statements should not be relied upon as Foodscale Hub’s views. Foodscale Hub does not guarantee the accuracy of the data included in this portal, nor does it take responsibility for the donations displayed on the Platform. Foodscale Hub does not take responsibility or in any way participates in the transfer and logistics of surplus food donations listed on the Platform.

I would like to donate food through the Foodshare platform. How to place a donation?

Donors hold the rights on which recipient(s) will receive the donation. If the donor does not exercise this right the donation will be awarded On a “first-come, first-served” basis.
